Brand story

35 years of chainsaws that cut concrete

63cm

Longest guide bar in the 890 series

Could a chainsaw cut concrete the way it cuts wood? ICS answered that question. It was the first in the world to perfect diamond-segment chain technology, creating the concrete chainsaw category itself, and it still sets the standard within the Oregon Tool group today.

A circular blade reaches only about a third of its diameter and leaves overcuts at corners. A chain works differently: it cuts as deep as the guide bar goes, right through a wall, and a corner ends exactly at the corner. For square openings like windows and doorways, that difference is decisive.

The PowerGrit pipe-cutting system is ICS patented technology for water and sewer work. There is no need to work around the pipe — the cut is completed from one position in the trench, reducing excavation and keeping the operator safer. It is used by utilities worldwide.

Q. What kind of brand is ICS?
ICS is the American brand that developed the world’s first diamond chainsaw for cutting concrete. It belongs to the Oregon Tool group, and its official Korean dealer is KYUNGJIN IRE (02-572-6171).
Q. How is it different from a circular-blade saw?
A circular blade cuts only to about a third of its diameter and leaves overcuts at corners. An ICS chainsaw cuts as deep as its guide bar (up to 63cm on the 890) right through the wall, and corners end exactly at the corner — ideal for openings.
Q. Electric, gas or hydraulic — which should I choose?
Electric CD35 for indoor work or where exhaust is a problem; gas 680ES/695XL for outdoor sites without power; hydraulic 890 series where maximum output is needed. Tell us your site conditions and we will advise.
Q. Can it cut pipe?
Yes. The PowerGrit chain is designed for ductile iron, cast iron, PVC and HDPE pipe. The cut is completed from one position in the trench with reduced excavation and low kickback risk.
